Florian Wirtz has failed to adjust to life as a Liverpool player since joining in the summer. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Wirtz now has three assists to his name at Liverpool<\/a> after his impressive performance against Eintracht Frankfurt a couple of weeks ago, but aside from that outing, he\u2019s not really been at the races. <\/p>\n

Despite this, Wirtz has managed to create plenty of chances when chosen to play by Liverpool<\/a>, but the fact that none of the Reds\u2019 attackers have performed all that well has hindered the amount he\u2019s been able to contribute. <\/p>\n

Hugo Ekitike<\/a> is, of course, the exception to this, but there have even been times when the Frenchman has fluffed a chance that Wirtz set up for him. <\/p>\n

Many different theories have been floated around about why Wirtz<\/a> has performed well, but now, it seems like Liverpool may have their own idea. <\/p>\n

Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool think that Florian Wirtz\u2019s poor form is due to the tactics being used<\/p>\n

Last season, Wirtz was Bayer Leverkusen\u2019s star man, with Xabi Alonso\u2019s team more or less built around him.<\/p>\n

This enabled the German to have the creative freedom to do as he pleased, but with Liverpool<\/a>, that\u2019s been a completely different story. <\/p>\n

Since the Reds have players such as Alexander Isak, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil van Dijk among their ranks, everyone is fighting to be the best and get involved with the goals.<\/p>\n

This means that Liverpool\u2019s approach is very rigid, which is likely one of the main reasons why things haven\u2019t gone to plan for Wirtz. <\/p>\n

And now, while speaking on the Here We Go Podcast<\/a>, Fabrizio Romano has shared what Liverpool think about Wirtz\u2019s poor form.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s been complicated. In this case, Liverpool feel that [it] is really [a] tactical point. Of course, there is also the adaptation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is also a different country, a different league, a different style. So these are also factors. But Liverpool are convinced that [it] is also the tactical point of view.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat Florian Wirtz was used to do at Bayern Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso is not what Florian Wirtz has to do in a different approach, of course, from Arne Slot.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen the player remains an excellent player. And so Liverpool have zero doubts about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Florian Wirtz needs to get settled in with Liverpool soon<\/p>\n

Wirtz needing to settle into life as a Liverpool player has been a massive topic of conversation since the start of the season.<\/p>\n

Hardly any of the Anfield outfit\u2019s summer signings have worked out as the Reds would have wanted them to, with most of them failing to live up to the standards they set last season. <\/p>\n

Ekitike has taken like a duck to water since arriving at Anfield<\/a>, but others, such as Isak, have failed to get fully fit, which has hindered their progress completely. <\/p>\n

However, Wirtz was the one player that all of the Reds\u2019 fans expected to thrive. <\/p>\n

The 22-year-old was brought in to fill the creative void that was left by Trent Alexander-Arnold\u2019s departure, but again, that has failed to happen. <\/p>\n

If Wirtz doesn\u2019t get back to his best soon and start producing regular goals and assists, fans may start calling for his head, and they could even end up wanting Harvey Elliott<\/a> back. <\/p>\n
