The British union Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) reported that Rockstar Games parted ways with approximately 30-40 employees in the UK and Canada.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"foobox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/gta-vi.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-235496\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/gta-vi.jpg\" alt=\"Rockstar Games laid off 30-40 GTA VI developers\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a conversation with Bloomberg, a union representative stated that all those laid off were activists: some were members of the IWGB, while others suggested forming a union within Rockstar Games. The company reportedly disapproved of all this and decided to hinder union organization through layoffs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRockstar Games just committed one of the most egregious and ruthless acts of union suppression in the history of the gaming industry,\u201d claimed the IWGB.<\/p>\n<p>Take-Two Interactive\u2014the parent company of Rockstar Games\u2014confirmed the layoffs to Bloomberg but cited a different reason. According to them, the cause was \u201cgross misconduct and nothing more.\u201d They did not provide details on the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Rockstar Games is currently finishing the development of GTA VI.
