Leeds have several players with uncertain futures at Elland Road.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joel Piroe could leave<\/a> in January after losing his place under Daniel Farke<\/a> following the arrival of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, while Illan Meslier may also depart<\/a> this winter ahead of his contract expiring in July.<\/p>\n

Joe Gelhardt might also be sold<\/a> when he returns from his loan spell at Hull City.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen what happens with Piroe and Gelhardt, but a different Leeds striker in Mateo Joseph<\/a> is said to want a permanent exit \u2013 according to ABC<\/a> in Spain.<\/p>\n

Spanish media think Mateo Joseph wants out of Leeds because of Daniel Farke<\/p>\n

The Spanish news outlet claim that the Spaniard has grown frustrated with Farke, after making just 11 starts in the Championship last season.<\/p>\n

ABC state that Joseph \u2013 currently on loan at Mallorca<\/a> \u2013 was wanted by Real Betis in a permanent deal during the summer transfer window, and was keen on the move himself.<\/p>\n

It is said that Real Betis failed to come to an agreement with Leeds, who demanded \u20ac15m (\u00a313m) to let the 22-year-old depart for good, and would also not agree to an initial loan with an option to buy.<\/p>\n

A source close to negotiations told ABC: \u201cThe deal was very close with Betis, who were the first club to show interest, but it couldn\u2019t be finalised.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leeds later allowed Joseph to join Mallorca on a dry loan \u2013 meaning it does not carry any purchase option or obligation \u2013 and he has scored two goals across nine appearances in La Liga so far, also providing two assists. <\/p>\n

Leeds made the correct call over Mateo Joseph<\/p>\n

The Spain U21 international is contracted to Leeds until July 2028, so the 49ers can afford to be patient when it comes to making a decision on his future \u2013 there is no need to rush.<\/p>\n

Joseph is a talent \u2013 no doubt about it \u2013 and with eight goals in 12 games for the Spain U21 side, his promise is large enough to justify the \u00a313m price tag Leeds allegedly demanded.<\/p>\n

His contract situation means Leeds had no reason to be bullied by Real Betis and it is pleasing to hear the Whites stayed firm on that valuation.<\/p>\n
