Didier Drogba has shared his admiration for Liverpool\u2019s Mohamed Salah. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Egyptian King has been one of the main reasons behind the Reds\u2019 dominance over the last few years, with the attacker even contributing to over 50 goals last season. <\/p>\n

Things haven\u2019t gone so well for Salah since returning to action for Liverpool<\/a> in the 2025-26 campaign, with the winger looking like a shadow of his former self. <\/p>\n

However, despite his poor run of form, Drogba still has an affinity for the attacker, even dubbing him the \u201cking.\u201d<\/p>\n

As mentioned, Salah has had a tough time of it over the last couple of months<\/a>, with his teammates often outshining him. <\/p>\n

Dominik Szoboszlai<\/a> and Hugo Ekitike have been Liverpool\u2019s two best players thus far, and in comparison to them, the Egyptian King has been half the player.<\/p>\n

He was given a rest by Arne Slot<\/a> in Liverpool\u2019s 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Wednesday, but it\u2019s unclear whether this will have had any effect on his performances or not. <\/p>\n

And now, when asked which African players he was impressed by in the Premier League<\/a> at the moment, Drogba gave Salah a special mention. <\/p>\n

\u201cI like Kudus, I used to like Jackson, because I see a lot of similarities between his debut at Chelsea,\u201d he said to SportyTV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, it was a difficult time for him at Chelsea, and of course, I forgot my brother, Mohamed Salah, king Salah, I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah must prove that he\u2019s still Liverpool\u2019s best player when they face Aston Villa<\/p>\n

Liverpool\u2019s upcoming Premier League clash against Aston Villa is likely to have a much bigger impact on the Reds\u2019 season than most fans would\u2019ve initially thought. <\/p>\n

If you\u2019d have asked anyone at the start of the season whether Liverpool<\/a> should have anything to worry about for this game, their answer would\u2019ve been no. <\/p>\n

However, since the Anfield outfit have lost six of their last seven games across all competitions, the likelihood of Liverpool retaining the Premier League title is dwindling<\/a>. <\/p>\n

This is where Salah<\/a> comes in. Now that he\u2019s had a rest from the mid-week game, he should be fully recharged and ready to make an impact against the Villans on Saturday. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s no way that in just a few short months, Salah\u2019s ability to pass and put the ball in the back of the net have just disappeared. <\/p>\n

The Salah of last season is still within him; he just needs to find him and bring him out. <\/p>\n

If he managed to do this, he could once again prove that he\u2019s the Reds\u2019 best player and why Liverpool were right to offer him a two-year contract extension. <\/p>\n
