Halloween night turned into a living horror show after one UK city transformed into what is being described as a “warzone”, with police making nine arrests after yobs targeted authorities and pedestrians with fireworks<\/p>\n

A UK city descended into a Halloween “warzone” after thugs shot fireworks at police officers<\/a>, bus passengers and pedestrians in an “appalling” act of “disorder.”<\/p>\n

Police have confirmed that nine people were arrested after consecutive incidents<\/a> that shook the busy city of Birmingham late last night (October 31).<\/p>\n

The second-largest city in the UK was rocked by the yobs<\/a> starting from around 9pm, which saw dozens of fireworks lit and fired off one after the other.<\/p>\n

In footage of the shocking incident, a double decker bus full of passengers can be seen as a sitting duck as multiple hooded figures aimed the rockets at the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Another clip captures the moment that a group dressed in black with their faces obscured by masks and hoods fired rockets at people walking on the other side of the road. The chilling video shows that those aiming the fireworks were filming on their phones while targeting pedestrians.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police said “pockets of disorder” were reported to authorities from 9pm on Friday (October 31) close to New Street, which is near Birmingham’s main train station.<\/p>\n

The footage captures the moment where two police vehicles arrived, with officers quickly pursuing the alleged culprits of the disorder.<\/p>\n

Authorities also shared that around 2:15am this morning (Saturday 1), there were more firework rockers aimed at buildings and police officers on Bagot Street.<\/p>\n

Those out of the nine arrested are aged between 13 and 23, with reasons for arrests including the possession of an offensive weapon.<\/p>\n

The police statement reads: “We arrested nine people after tackling unacceptable disorder where fireworks were launched in Birmingham city centre.<\/p>\n

“We took strong action following a number of incidents where fireworks were set off last night and into this morning (1 November).<\/p>\n

From around 9pm there were pockets of disorder where some were thrown dangerously near New Street. Then at around 2.15am there were fireworks launched by a group towards buildings, police officers and each other in Bagot Street.<\/p>\n

“Thankfully, no-one was injured as a result of a firework being thrown.<\/p>\n

“We detained nine people \u2013 aged between 13 and 23 \u2013 in connection with public order, throwing fireworks and possession of an offensive weapon.<\/p>\n

“We won\u2019t tolerate such appalling actions and we\u2019ll continue to have a visible police presence in and around the city centre. We also have a dispersal order in place.<\/p>\n

“We want to be clear; anyone who is involved in such irresponsible behaviour risks being arrested and prosecuted. We\u2019re focussed on ensuring the city centre remains a safe place for residents, visitors and those who work in the area.”<\/p>\n
