<\/p>\nLiverpool are only one point away from being confirmed as the 2024\/25 Premier League champions. It would be the second time they have claimed the title in the competition, while it would be their 20th English top-flight title overall.<\/p>\n
But what would they actually get for becoming champions? Here, we look at what clubs and players are rewarded with for winning a Premier League title.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Premier League Trophy<\/p>\n
Well, of course, if Liverpool were to win the title, they would receive the Premier League Trophy, with the red-and-white ribbons attached, denoting the club colours. \u00a0<\/p>\n
There are actually two Trophies which are identical and include an engraved base detailing past Premier League champions.<\/p>\n
During the season, one stays with the Premier League champions, while the other is used by the League.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Each Trophy stands 3ft 5in (104cm) tall and is 2ft (61cm) wide. It weighs 4st (25.4kg) in total.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Of that weight, the base into which the names of the champions are engraved comprises 2.5st (15.9kg).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Click here to zoom in on image<\/a><\/p>\n In the past, teams who have been confirmed as champions before the end of the season have been presented with the Trophy at their final home match.<\/p>\n In Liverpool<\/a>\u2019s case that would be the Crystal Palace<\/a> fixture at Anfield on the final day of the season on 25 May. But, with the title not yet confirmed, it is too early to say when it will happen.\u00a0<\/p>\n But the event would be special for Liverpool fans as it would be the first time that the Premier League Trophy would be presented to the team in an Anfield stadium full of fans. When Liverpool were crowned champions in 2019\/20, they received the Trophy in an empty stadium because of the COVID-19 pandemic. \u00a0<\/p>\n Premier League medals<\/p>\n As well as being presented with the Trophy, as champions Liverpool would also get 2024\/25 Premier League winners\u2019 medals. \u00a0<\/p>\n As laid out by rule C.13 in the Premier League Handbook, the champions receive 40 commemorative medals \u201cto be presented by the Club to its Manager and to such of its Players and Officials as it thinks fit provided that any Player who has entered the field of play in a minimum of five of its League Matches that Season\u201d. \u00a0<\/p>\n At present, 21 Liverpool players have played five or more times for the club in the Premier League.<\/p>\n PL apps by Liverpool players 24\/25<\/p>\n Player<\/p>\n Alisson Becker<\/p>\n Diogo Jota<\/p>\n Wataru Endo<\/p>\n Kostas Tsimikas<\/p>\n Conor Bradley<\/p>\n Harvey Elliott<\/p>\n Jarell Quansah<\/p>\n Caoimhin Kelleher<\/p>\n Joe Gomez<\/p>\n Federico Chiesa<\/p>\n Vitezslav Jaros<\/p>\n Jayden Danns<\/p>\n Do Premier League winners get any prize money?\u00a0<\/p>\n It\u2019s common in sport for individual champions, such as winners of golf tournaments like The Masters or tennis players at Wimbledon to receive a prize fund.\u00a0<\/p>\n But in the Premier League there is no specific prize fund for being crowned champions. \u00a0<\/p>\n The team who finish top of the 20 clubs in the division receive the highest merit payment from the Premier League\u2019s central payments.<\/p>\n The merit payments are based on a sliding scale calculated according to where you finish in the league, from 1st to 20th.<\/p>\n The champions receive 20 times the basic merit payment, the club finishing second 19 times, and so on, down to the club finishing bottom receiving one times the merit payment. \u00a0<\/p>\n Last year, the highest merit payment was \u00a322.6million claimed by Manchester City<\/a> as champions, while Sheffield United received the lowest merit payments (\u00a31.1m) as the bottom club. See more on how payments were distributed last season, here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Of course, there are likely to be commercial benefits for the team who win the Premier League title.<\/p>\n It is common for commercial companies who have deals with clubs to have bonus payments based on such scenarios.
