{"id":543404,"date":"2025-11-02T04:05:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T04:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/543404\/"},"modified":"2025-11-02T04:05:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T04:05:11","slug":"fda-says-drugmakers-have-recalled-a-blood-pressure-medicine-tainted-with-a-cancer-causing-chemical-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/543404\/","title":{"rendered":"FDA says drugmakers have recalled a blood pressure medicine tainted with a cancer-causing chemical | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says drugmakers have recalled more than a half-million bottles of the blood pressure medication prazosin hydrochloride over concerns it may include a cancer-causing chemical.<\/p>\n<p>New Jersey-based Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and drugs distributor Amerisource Health Services issued voluntary nationwide\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Product=216677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recalls<\/a>\u00a0earlier this month of more than 580,000 bottles of various strengths of prazosine capsules, according to the FDA.<\/p>\n<p>Doctors prescribe prazosin, which relaxes blood vessels, to help lower blood pressure.
