Liverpool forward finds net against Aston Villa to equal total for most goal involvements at one club<\/p>\n
Mohamed Salah\u2019s first-half goal for Liverpool<\/a> in their 2-0 victory over Aston Villa<\/a> was a landmark one for him in many ways.<\/p>\n When Salah<\/a> pounced on Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez<\/a>\u2019s loose pass to slot a first-time finish into an unguarded net, it marked his 250th goal in all competitions for Liverpool.<\/p>\n He is only the third player to reach this number for the club, after Ian Rush<\/a> (346 goals) and Roger Hunt (285).<\/p>\n “It’s a great feeling to score goals for such a big club, it’s something I don’t take for granted,” Salah told TNT Sports. “I’m so proud and happy about that achievement.”<\/p>\n The strike also moved him level with Wayne Rooney<\/a> for the most goal involvements for one club in the Premier League.<\/p>\n His 276 Premier League goal involvements (188 goals, 88 assists) for Liverpool are equal to Rooney\u2019s total (183 goals, 93 assists) for Manchester United<\/a>.<\/p>\n Salah\u2019s 279 goal involvements overall in the Premier League (including two goals and one assist at Chelsea) now place him joint-third in the rankings, alongside Frank Lampard<\/a> (177 goals, 102 assists).<\/p>\n
