The British Transport Police (BTP) said two people remain in a life-threatening condition following the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/news\/transport\/huntingdon-train-stabbing-lner-train-32796858\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">bloody rampage on an LNER train<\/a> yesterday evening (November 1).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"getwestlondon\">In a statement, Superintendent John Loveless said one suspect is a black British national and the other is a British national of Caribbean descent. The force declared a major incident and said the pair were arrested after the 6.25pm train service from Doncaster to London King\u2019s Cross was stopped at Huntingdon station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"getwestlondon\">The attack is believed to have happened shortly after the high-speed service departed Peterborough station. It is currently unclear when the two suspects got on the train, or where they live.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"getwestlondon\">Eleven people have been treated in hospital, with <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/news\/uk-world-news\/huntingdon-train-stabbings-everything-know-32796742\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">nine originally presented with life-threatening injuries<\/a>. Four have since been discharged and returned home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"getwestlondon\">Commenting on whether the incident was terrorism, Mr Loveless told reporters: &#8220;British Transport Police declared a major incident yesterday, and counter-terrorism policing were initially supporting our investigation. However, at this stage, there is nothing to suggest that this is a terrorist incident.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/0_01K91TBDDC9A00GC41SJXBEECW.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Forensic teams and sniffer dogs were also deployed as work to gather evidence began<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"getwestlondon\">Armed police officers and paramedics attended Huntingdon station and boarded the train, arresting the two suspects within eight minutes of the 999 call being made. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood praised the \u201cexceptional bravery of staff and passengers on the train\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"getwestlondon\">She too confirmed the incident was not being treated as terrorism. One man, who gave his name as Gavin, told Sky News he believed he saw the suspect tasered before he was arrested.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"getwestlondon\">Olly Foster, who also witnessed the incident, told the BBC an older man \u201cblocked\u201d the attacker from stabbing a younger girl, leaving him with injuries to his head and neck. Other passengers reportedly used their clothing to try and stem the bleeding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"getwestlondon\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Looking for more from MyLondon?
