Gwent Police said officers scrambled to an address in Crossway, Rogiet, Caldicot, near Newport, South Wales, around 6pm tonight (Sunday).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Police said the nine-month-old infant was pronounced dead at the scene after officers and ambulance crews descended on the address. The force said a\u00a0dog has been seized and removed from the property.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Superintendent John Davies, from Gwent Police, said: \u201cWe understand that there will be concerns around this incident, but officers are on scene and will be making further enquiries as the investigation progresses.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Welsh Ambulance Service said: &#8220;We were called today at 18.02 to reports of a medical emergency in Rogiet, Caldicot.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We sent one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, a Duty Operations Manager and one Emergency Ambulance.
