The matter of Holiday Hubs is back on the agenda. These are facilities for children and young people with additional support needs. The campaign group REPAIR has shown us a copy of the deputation which they will present to the meeting. They explain in that the confusion which arose in October around Holiday Hubs resulting in some places remaining unfilled while some parents heard nothing in reply to their applications for a place for their child. <\/li>\n<li>There are now new criteria agreed before a child is allocated a place. One of the facilities \u2013 the Braidburn Hub \u2013 has closed with the council say reduces places by 78 and REPAIR agrees, but say this has decreased provision by 400 places since 2023\/24.<\/li>\n<li>The council said that a new Development Officer is now in post and they will \u201clearn lessons\u201d from the report about the hubs in summer 2025. But no matter what lessons have been learned each child is now only entitled to three weeks of placement at a holiday hub and not four as they were previously.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wednesday, 5th November, 2025<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10.00 am \u2013 5.00 pm\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk\/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=148&amp;MId=7808\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Meeting of\u00a0Development Management Sub-Committee\u00a0on\u00a005\/11\u00a0at\u00a010.00 am \u2013 5.00 pm<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Dean of Guild Court Room, City Chambers. The agenda for this meeting includes the usual applications for retrospective consent for change of use to short term let accommodation all of which are recommended for refusal.<\/li>\n<li>Edinburgh\u2019s Christmas already has a three year planning permission in place for the various rides and outlets in Princes Street Gardens which are already being erected, but they have made two new applications \u2013 one for West Princes Street Gardens is recommended for approval, but the other for additional huts \u2013 a Dutch-inspired tent and 20 new market stalls \u2013 in the gardens is recommended for refusal. The reason given is that these extra units would have an adverse impact on the gardens.<a href=\"https:\/\/citydev-portal.edinburgh.gov.uk\/idoxpa-web\/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&amp;keyVal=T29E6CEWMFZ00\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Details of the huts to be used are here.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thursday, 6th November, 2025<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10.00 am\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk\/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=138&amp;MId=7668\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Meeting of\u00a0Governance, Risk and Best Value Committee\u00a0on\u00a006\/11\u00a0at\u00a010.00 am<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Dean of Guild Court Room \u2013 City Chambers Tucked away in the Business Bulletin for this meeting are the figures reporting on how Edinburgh is doing against other cities when it comes to those people injured in collisions on the city\u2019s streets. <a href=\"https:\/\/democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk\/documents\/s90007\/7.1%20GRBV%20Business%20Bulletin%20-%206%20November%202025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read the report here<\/a> which includes a Public Performance Scorecard showing that Edinburgh had the highest number of people injured on the streets second only to Glasgow. <\/li>\n<li>There is reference to a \u201cNovember Update\u201d (by the Transport and Environment Committee). The report states: \u201cThe November 2025 update will report on: the 2025\/26 Road Safety Delivery Plan; the impact of extending the 20mph network on public transport services; an update on Section 75 Developer Contributions for road safety, traffic signals and active travel interventions; proposals for a new Data Analysis \u2013 Collision Investigation Protocol (to replace the existing Accident Investigation Prevention process) as well as a new Pedestrian Crossings Assessment Framework. In addition to projects being delivered as part of the Road Safety Delivery Plan, the Council is also taking forward an extensive programme of improvements to infrastructure for people walking, wheeling, and cycling in the city, as part of its recently approved 10-year City Mobility Plan Capital Investment Programme.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Friday, 7th November, 2025 \u2013 no meetings<\/p>\n<p>North-South tram line extension<\/p>\n<p>The council is consulting local residents about the new north south tram line one version of which might run along Roseburn Path and stop in Roseburn. <\/p>\n<p>There is an extra local drop-in session where everyone who lives in the area can see the plans and speak to Council Officers which is at Roseburn Primary School\u00a0<strong>on\u00a05 November 2025, 6.15pm \u2013 8.15pm<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk\/sfc\/tram-north-south\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The consultation<\/a>\u00a0is open until\u00a0<strong>17 November<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The Murrayfield Community Council said they have not taken any overall view of the plans but submitted a collection of comments that were raised in discussion. From 18 October 2025 \u2013 19 April 2026, meet the man behind some of the most iconic aerial photographs ever taken, marvel at the death-defying lengths he took to capture the perfect image and explore how his innovative techniques in the darkroom paved the way for modern technologies such as Photoshop and AI. Free to visit at the National Galleries Scotland: Portrait, this will be the first major exhibition dedicated to Alfred Buckham and can only be seen in Scotland.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This exhibition will bring together over 100 photographs and objects including popular works from the Scottish national collection, alongside extensive archival material generously loaned by Alfred Buckham\u2019s grandsons, Richard and John Buckham.
