Metallica<\/a>\u2019s Kirk Hammett has said the band would love the chance to play the Las Vegas Sphere.<\/p>\n

The venue has already seen the likes of U2<\/a>, Phish<\/a> and The Eagles<\/a> perform since it opened in September 2023.<\/p>\n

It was also recently confirmed that a new Sphere venue will be constructed in Abu Dhabi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, when asked if Metallica would consider performing there, Hammett said: \u201cOh, heck, yeah! That\u2019s a great example of how venues are changing. That\u2019s using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to AI and making it a crazy experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reviewing U2\u2019s Vegas residency the Sphere<\/a>,\u00a0NME\u00a0hailed the show for \u201ctaking the live concert experience \u2018to the next level\u2019\u201d and delivering \u201ca fine balancing act of doing just that while also ensuring their music remains very much at the forefront\u201d.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Metallica\u2019s guitarist recently said he is working on his first solo album<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess the best way to describe it is it\u2019s gonna be a fusion of all sorts of styles,\u201d Hammett said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of a sudden I\u2019m writing classical progressions, and all of a sudden I\u2019m writing more heavy stuff and all of a sudden I\u2019m writing like a funk thing,\u201d he added. \u201cThere will be vocals because the songs that I wrote scream for vocals this time around.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hammett also recently said he has already written 767 new riffs for the next Metallica album<\/a>, although he added that he does not foresee the band working on it \u201cfor at least another year\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the band recently announced they will head to Bahrain for their first live performance in the country.<\/a> It will be held on December 3 at the Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the band also released the first trailer for their new documentary Metallica Saved My Life.<\/a><\/p>\n

The forthcoming film is set to be screened in cities on the North American leg of the band\u2019s \u2018M72\u2019 world tour<\/a>.
