The wireless charging highway is located at the outskirts of Paris near the A10 motorway, and can charge multiple buses, cars, and heavy-duty trucks in motion.

According to Gustave Eiffel University’s independent labs, the highway is designed to deliver a continuous power of more than 200 kW, which can peak to 300 kW- the same amount delivered by Tesla’s V3 Supercharger.

Also Read: Shield AI Unveils X-BAT: The World’s Fastest AI Stealth Jet

How does the charging work?

The self-charging highway is packed with copper coils underneath the asphalt on the road, which generates a magnetic field and transfers power to the vehicles through special receivers. The process is similar to the energy transfer of a magnetic power bank on the back of an iPhone that supports wireless charging. The highway will still work in heavy rain, ice, or snow, as the system uses a magnetic field to charge the vehicles.

France launches a 1.5 km highway near Paris that wirelessly charges EVs in motion, matching Tesla’s Supercharger power.…

[5309
173421,1305,2000,299,30830,35049,36,175462,175471,103605,175467,175466,1411,175465,175464,175470,175468,28894,175469,26800,175463
0":"post-546061","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-france","8":"tag-electric-mobility","9":"tag-electric-vehicles","10":"tag-eu","11":"tag-europe","12":"tag-ev-infrastructure","13":"tag-ev-innovation","14":"tag-france","15":"tag-france-ev-highway","16":"tag-future-mobility","17":"tag-green-tech","18":"tag-gustave-eiffel-university","19":"tag-inductive-charging","20":"tag-paris","21":"tag-paris-a10-highway","22":"tag-self-charging-road","23":"tag-smart-roads","24":"tag-smart-transportation","25":"tag-sustainable-transport","26":"tag-tesla-supercharger","27":"tag-wireless-charging","28":"tag-wireless-ev-charging
["GET
