{"id":546373,"date":"2025-11-03T14:18:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T14:18:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/546373\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T14:18:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T14:18:19","slug":"multiple-park-and-ride-facilities-planned-for-ryder-cup-in-limerick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/546373\/","title":{"rendered":"Multiple park-and-ride facilities planned for Ryder Cup in Limerick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WITH over 60,000 set to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/3293\/ryder-cup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visit<\/a> Adare each day during Ryder Cup 2027, the council is planning to introduce a series of park-and-ride facilities near the village.<\/p>\n<p>The local authority has advertised its intention to open four temporary park-and-ride sites which will allow people to park their cars and be shuttled to Adare Manor by bus for the duration of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s envisaged one will be located in Patrickswell, while two will be based in Croagh, with these villages close to Adare on the N21.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/home\/1931290\/ryder-cup-in-limerick-to-be-most-exciting-sporting-event-ever-in-ireland.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ryder Cup in Limerick to be \u2018most exciting sporting event ever in Ireland\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A fourth facility is planned for the Mackey Roundabout, at the exit of the M7 Limerick to Dublin motorway near Annacotty.<br \/>The local authority is seeking permission for these using its own public lands.<\/p>\n<p>It means it will be the role of councillors to accept, reject or amend the proposals at various district meetings in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>On top of this, the general public will also be able to view the plans at County Hall in Dooradoyle, or <a href=\"https:\/\/mypoint.limerick.ie\/en\/browse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For each park-and-ride planned, Limerick City and County Council has said it plans to return the land to its existing use within a month of the completion of the 2027 Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n<p>In Patrickswell, the park-and-ride is earmarked for the townland of Richmondvilla on the west side of the village.<\/p>\n<p>In Croagh, one park-and-ride site is planned for the northside of the village\u2019s roundabout on the N21.<\/p>\n<p>The other is earmarked for the southside of the roundabout.<\/p>\n<p>The park-and-ride near the Mackey Roundabout will be located in the townland of Mountshannon, the council has stated.<\/p>\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT &#8211;
