PSNI appeal to anyone in the area between midday on Sunday and 8am on Monday\n<\/p>\n

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene<\/p>\n

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in a Co Down village.<\/p>\n

Officers from the PSNI\u2019s Major investigation Team are currently at the scene in the New Harbour area of Portavogie.<\/p>\n

The NI Ambulance Service received report of the incident just after 7.45am on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. <\/p>\n

Detective Inspector McCartan continued: \u201cA 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and remains in police custody at this time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re deeply aware this news will bring both shock and sadness to the close-knit community of Portavogie.<\/p>\n

\u201cLocal people will see police officers in and around the area, with cordons still in place.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cOur enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing to anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 246 of 03\/11\/2025.<\/p>\n
