Veterans Housing Scotland (VHS) will share in \u00a34.5 million awarded to support veterans with a housing need.<\/p>\n

VHS is just one of 19 organisations to\u00a0receive a share of\u00a0\u00a34.5 million\u00a0from the Veterans\u2019 Capital Housing Fund.\u00a0<\/p>\n

These projects will provide\u00a0new build properties and also significant refurbishment\u00a0of existing rental accommodation offering high quality support for\u00a0veterans who require housing.<\/p>\n

Nine grants\u00a0are awarded under the Major Capital Grants programme, which supports new build accommodation and significant refurbishment and extension of accommodation\u00a0for veterans.\u00a0A further 10 supplementary grants are awarded to existing projects of which VHS is one.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kevin Gray, Chief Executive of Veterans Housing Scotland, said he was delighted to learn that the charity has been awarded an Office for Veteran\u2019s Affairs Capital Supplementary Fund from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWe are grateful to the AFCFT as always for its continued support of VHS.\u00a0 This additional funding will help with the refurbishment programme currently underway and will specifically fund replacement windows and doors ensuring that our beneficiaries and their homes are warm and draught free ahead of the coming winter.\u201d<\/p>\n
