A Birmingham mother paid tribute to her 18-year-old son who died after a ‘random illness’.<\/p>\n

Ahmed Qureshi was a student at Handsworth Grammar School who had a ‘love for life’.<\/a><\/p>\n

The football-mad student was able to share one last memory with his friends who visited Ahmed in hospital before he died.<\/p>\n

Ahmed’s brothers will continue their education at the school where he ‘left a lasting impression’.<\/p>\n

In a letter shared by assistant headteacher Mohammed Mohsin, Ahmed’s mother paid tribute to her ‘loving child’.<\/p>\n

She said: “I am honoured that Handsworth Grammar School will always be a part of his legacy.<\/p>\n

“His beautiful friends that were by his side until the end were a part of that legacy and I’m grateful they all met at that wonderful school.<\/p>\n

“Mr Mohsin, you witnessed the incredible journey Ahmed took.<\/p>\n

“His frequent hospital visits and numerous procedures during his young life were for his oesophageal stricture.<\/p>\n

“His last procedure in September 2023 was during his A Levels. The staff and friends were instrumental in his recovery.<\/p>\n

“And he recovered. This was out of the blue, a random illness that took his life.<\/p>\n

“Despite his hardships, Ahmed was a loving, happy, kind and patient child.<\/p>\n

“Words fall short. He would comfort me.
