Louis Rees-Zammit is set to return to the Wales starting XV as they begin their\u00a0Quilter Nations Series\u00a0campaign against\u00a0Argentina Cardiff on\u00a0Sunday, 9 November.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After naming a\u00a039-man squad<\/strong>, much of Steve Tandy\u2019s selection will focus on picking players based on form. However, as with any new head coach, we may see new partnerships forming \u2014 though, realistically, there will be no major shake-ups from the previous XV selected by\u00a0Warren Gatland<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Matt Sherratt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Below, we take a punt on who will start in that game with Louis Rees-Zammity going straight into the starting XV<\/p>\n

Back Three<\/strong><\/p>\n

15. Blair Murray (Scarlets, 10 caps)<\/strong>
Murray has emerged as one of Wales\u2019 standout performers in recent fixtures, providing a rare positive in what has been a difficult period for Welsh rugby.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old has been a constant threat in attack, demonstrating creativity and composure to glide past opposition defences.<\/p>\n

14. Louis Rees-Zammit (Bristol Bears, 32 caps)<\/strong>
Despite training separately from the main squad during last week\u2019s open session at Principality Stadium, Rees-Zammit remains optimistic about his return ahead of the clash with Argentina.<\/p>\n

If declared fit, his inclusion is almost certain. His return would provide a huge boost for Tandy\u2019s side this autumn. Now representing\u00a0Bristol Bears<\/strong>\u00a0in the Gallagher Premiership, the winger looks noticeably stronger after his NFL stint and will be eager to make an immediate impact.<\/p>\n

11. Josh Adams (Cardiff Rugby, 63 caps)<\/strong>
Wales need experience this autumn, and Adams remains that safe pair of hands for Tandy.<\/p>\n

Although the winger has struggled for form since touring with the\u00a0British & Irish Lions<\/strong>\u00a0in 2021, his inclusion brings reliability and class. A back three of Adams, Rees-Zammit, and Murray is a mouthwatering prospect.<\/p>\n

Centres<\/strong><\/p>\n

13. Max Llewellyn (Gloucester Rugby, 8 caps)<\/strong>
After being left out of the Six Nations squad by Gatland, the 6ft 6in centre was quickly reinstated by interim boss Sherratt for the remainder of the championship.<\/p>\n

Wales must be smart in how they utilise the powerful ball carrier \u2014 getting over the gain line will be vital against the Pumas. His handling ability also adds another dimension to the attack.<\/p>\n

12. Ben Thomas (Cardiff Rugby, 14 caps)<\/strong>
Out of all the inside centre options,\u00a0Cardiff Rugby\u2019s Ben Thomas<\/strong>\u00a0appears to be the frontrunner, though\u00a0Saracens\u2019 Nick Tompkins<\/strong>\u00a0remains in contention.<\/p>\n

Having been used out of position under Gatland, Thomas will hope Tandy allows him to make the 12 jersey his own. His creativity and game awareness could be crucial come Sunday.<\/p>\n

Half-Backs<\/strong><\/p>\n

10. Callum Sheedy (Cardiff Rugby, 16 caps)<\/strong>
This could be Tandy\u2019s toughest call. While\u00a0Ioan Lloyd<\/strong>\u00a0impressed during the summer tour, both Sheedy and\u00a0Jarrod Evans<\/strong>\u00a0are pushing hard for the starting fly-half role.<\/p>\n

Sheedy has had a strong start to the\u00a0URC season<\/strong>\u00a0and looks full of confidence. It may come down to a coin toss between him and Evans for the No.10 shirt.<\/p>\n

9. Tomos Williams (Gloucester Rugby, 64 caps)<\/strong>
One of the easiest selections for Tandy. Williams is undoubtedly among the first names on the team sheet.<\/p>\n

Had it not been for injury in Perth, he may well have earned\u00a0Lions<\/strong>\u00a0honours in the summer. The Gloucester scrum-half will be key to setting the tempo if Wales are to double their winning streak on Sunday.<\/p>\n
