All details will come to light soon.\u201d J&amp;K Sports Council also denied involvement, saying it had no role in the tournament.The league was announced on Sept 18, promising to run Oct 23\u2013Nov 7. IHPL had listed 32 international players, including former West Indies star Chris Gayle, New Zealand\u2019s Jesse Ryder, and Sri Lanka\u2019s Thisara Perera.Official documents show govt engagement in IHPL\u2019s preparations. An Oct 22 press release detailed a meeting chaired by divisional commissioner Anshul Garg \u201cto take first-hand appraisal of IHPL readiness\u201d. Garg had predicted 25,000\u201330,000 spectators at Bakshi Stadium and directed security forces to assist with crowd management.However, attendance was poor from the opening day. Ticket prices were slashed as stands remained empty, except for matches featuring Chris Gayle, the tournament\u2019s biggest draw.BJP said IHPL\u2019s collapse had dealt a blow to the region\u2019s image. \u201cCricket was the only sport showing promise this year, with tourism and horticulture struggling.
