Arne Slot is looking to come through his most challenging period as the Liverpool manager following a disappointing run of form.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Liverpool backed Slot with multiple new signings<\/a> in the recent summer transfer window, with the club spending \u00a3446million. <\/p>\n It is understood Liverpool have been in talks with Slot about a new contract<\/a> as his current deal is set to expire in June 2027. <\/p>\n However, questions have been asked about whether that is the right move following the Reds\u2019 recent form. <\/p>\n Liverpool lost six out of seven games in all competitions<\/a>\u00a0before beating Aston Villa 2-0 on Saturday (1 November), bringing their four-game losing streak in the Premier League to an end.\u00a0<\/p>\n Former Man City<\/a> financial adviser Stefan Borson<\/a> exclusively told Football Insider<\/strong> he\u2019s been \u201csurprised\u201d by the noise surrounding Slot<\/a>. <\/p>\n Liverpool<\/a> claimed the Premier League title in the Dutch manager\u2019s first season at Anfield, having replaced Jurgen Klopp<\/a> in the summer of 2024. <\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong> about Liverpool\u2019s contract talks with Slot, Borson said: \u201cYou would think that everything would carry on. You would take a view and say, \u2018Well, this is just how football goes sometimes\u2019. <\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s quite a lot of noise. I am actually surprised by the level of general noise that sort of follows him around. <\/p>\n \u201cMaybe that\u2019s the social media thing and not in the actual real fanbase, but it seems to me to be a bit over the top. I mean, of course, it\u2019s very poor in terms of losing six out of seven, but they won the title not too long ago.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Liverpool have moved up to third in the Premier League table following\u00a0their victory over Aston Villa<\/a>, but they remain seven points behind league leaders Arsenal.\u00a0<\/p>\n Slot backed to turn things around at Liverpool<\/p>\n Borson has insisted Liverpool\u2019s recent form isn\u2019t a major issue as he backed them to turn things around. <\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve got fantastic players,\u201d said Borson. <\/p>\n \u201cI still think that the players they signed this summer will turn out to be successes. I don\u2019t think personally there\u2019s any major issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cTo win the title in the first season, I think it\u2019s unfair to say it\u2019s just Klopp and you should discount it as somebody else\u2019s team.
