Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres will undergo further tests this week amid fears he has suffered a hamstring injury.<\/b><\/p>\n
The Sweden international was withdrawn at half-time in the Gunners’ victory at Burnley on Saturday having scored the team’s opener.<\/p>\n
Speaking before the Champions League match against Slavia Prague on Tuesday night, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: “I am concerned because he hasn’t had many muscular issues and he needed to leave the pitch and he was feeling something.<\/p>\n
“That’s obviously never a good sign, especially for a player that is very, very explosive.<\/p>\n
“So we are digging in a little bit more to understand where we are in terms of the injury and we’ll announce the moment we know.”<\/p>\n
There is hope that the decision to withdraw Gyokeres at half-time at Turf Moor has prevented further complications, with initial thoughts being that the 27-year-old will miss at least two weeks.<\/p>\n
After the game with Slavia Prague, the Gunners face Sunderland on Saturday before the majority of the squad leave for the international break.<\/p>\n
Arsenal’s first game back after the internationals is the north London derby against Tottenham on 23 November.<\/p>\n
