{"id":549121,"date":"2025-11-04T19:48:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T19:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/549121\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T19:48:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T19:48:19","slug":"ios-26-2s-apple-news-app-has-a-new-and-improved-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/549121\/","title":{"rendered":"iOS 26.2\u2019s Apple News app has a new and improved design"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/news-ios-26-2.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Apple released the <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/11\/04\/apple-releases-first-ios-26-2-beta-for-iphone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first beta version<\/a> of iOS 26.2 today to developers, and it includes some key design changes for the News app. Here\u2019s what\u2019s new.<\/p>\n<p>Apple News update in iOS 26.2 makes popular features easier to find<\/p>\n<p>Apple News originally launched as an app intended exclusively for news.<\/p>\n<p>But over the years, and especially recently, the News app has expanded to include features like daily puzzles, food recipes and cooking features, dedicated sports and politics sections, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Today, iOS 26.2 beta 1 helps make all of those recent additions more accessible than ever.<\/p>\n<p>The new and improved News design adds four new quick links to the top of the Today screen:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sports<\/li>\n<li>Puzzles<\/li>\n<li>Politics<\/li>\n<li>Food<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/news-ios-26-2-menus.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1026661\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Each of these take you directly to their corresponding sections, in most cases saving a tap in the process.<\/p>\n<p>By moving Sports out of the tab bar at the bottom of the screen, and into this new top menu row, News freed up space for a new \u2018Following\u2019 navigation tab.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Following\u2019 takes everything that used to be hidden behind the Search button and breaks it out into its own dedicated tab.<\/p>\n<p>This means when you hit Search, you\u2019ll now see the kind of search recommendations that you might find in other Apple services apps, such as Music and TV.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, while the basic look of the app is still largely the same as before, the updates to navigation options and streamlining of popular features seems like a big design improvement overall for frequent News users.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think of the design changes to News in iOS 26.2?
