An \u2018unsung hero\u2019 of York Knights\u2019 Championship table-topping season has been given the opportunity to prove what he can do in Super League.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Centre\/second-rower Kieran Buchanan didn\u2019t miss a game for Knights<\/a> in 2025 after joining them from Batley Bulldogs.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old Scotland international has now agreed a new two-year contract and coach Mark Applegarth reckons he will take the step up to the top-flight in his stride.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am delighted he has signed,\u201d Applegarth said. \u201cHe\u2019s a real unsung hero of the team; he does a lot of the tough stuff and unselfish acts that all his teammates appreciate and probably don\u2019t get as many headlines as some of the overt stuff we\u2019ve been seeing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s an absolute champion bloke and character in the dressing room and, more importantly, a really good player.\u201d<\/p>\n

Buchanan is \u201cbuzzing\u201d to have re-signed ahead of York\u2019s debut Super League campaign. He said: \u201cMy first year here has honestly been perfect. I\u2019ve loved every minute with the lads, the staff and the fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t have asked for a better club to be part of. I\u2019m excited for what\u2019s ahead and ready to give it everything again next season.\u201d<\/p>\n
