{"id":549315,"date":"2025-11-04T21:47:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T21:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/549315\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T21:47:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T21:47:14","slug":"a-real-life-fiddler-takes-to-the-roof-of-the-alexandra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/549315\/","title":{"rendered":"A real-life Fiddler takes to the roof of The Alexandra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aiir-c-news-figure__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/690a6b1d04626.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"aiir-c-news-article__abstract\">\n            A real-life Fiddler on the Roof visited Birmingham ahead of the smash-hit show opening at The Alexandra Theatre next month.\n        <\/p>\n<p>This December, Birmingham audiences will be treated to four weeks of the Olivier award-winning musical,\u00a0Fiddler on the Roof\u00a0which plays at The Alexandra for a festive run\u00a0from 9th December to 3rd January.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the shows arrival, Roman Lytwyniw, who is the alternate Fiddler in the production, paid a visit to the second city and took to the roof of the 124-year-old theatre to take in the sights.<\/p>\n<p>Following sold-out seasons at Regent&#8217;s Park Open Air Theatre and\u00a0London&#8217;s Barbican Theatre, the UK tour of this\u00a0musical masterpiece is the first in over 12 years, featuring one of the finest scores ever written including: \u2018If I Were A Rich Man\u2019, \u2018Tradition\u2019, \u2018Matchmaker\u2019 and \u2018Sunrise, Sunset\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s 1905 in the tiny village of\u00a0Anatevka\u00a0where Tevye, a Jewish milkman, lives his life by their proud traditions.
