Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham admitted he does not know whether he will be recalled to the England squad. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old was back in his homeland on Tuesday night as Madrid lost 1-0 to Liverpool<\/a> at Anfield. <\/p>\n

Bellingham made a small piece of history, albeit in defeat, becoming the youngest player in history to reach 50 appearances<\/a> in the Champions League. <\/p>\n

But despite breaking new ground for his club, the former Birmingham and Borussia Dortmund star finds himself fighting for his place in the England team.<\/p>\n

Manager Thomas Tuchel did not select Bellingham<\/a> for the October international break, despite the midfielder being available.<\/p>\n

While Bellingham was returning to full fitness after an injury, Tuchel went out of his way to insist it was a footballing decision.<\/p>\n

The decision garnered extra attention after the German called Bellingham’s behaviour ‘repulsive’ in a talkSPORT interview<\/a>, although he later apologised and said his true feelings were lost in translation. <\/p>\n

Tuchel also said he would reach out to Bellingham for talks<\/a> ahead of the next camp. <\/p>\n

With that England squad being announced on Friday, and a World Cup on the horizon next summer<\/a>, Bellingham was asked if he expects to be included. <\/p>\n

“It’s not my call,” he replied in an interview with Amazon Prime. “I think you know whose call it is.”<\/p>\n

When pressed on whether he would like to be back in the squad, Bellingham added: “I would love to be but it’s not my call. I’ll be waiting to see.”<\/p>\n

Alexis Mac Allister scored the only goal of the league phase clash, but the evening will be remembered for the return of a formerly beloved Liverpool<\/a> hero. <\/p>\n

It came after a mural of the ex-Reds defender in Liverpool was defaced earlier on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

While some fans gave Alexander-Arnold a warm reception, many are yet to forgive him for running his contract down and leaving on a free transfer to the Bernabeu over the summer. <\/p>\n

But Bellingham believes his England teammate is still appreciated by Liverpool supporters deep down. <\/p>\n

He said: “Obviously, it is one of those things in football. The fans booing isn’t a reflection of how they feel about him.<\/p>\n

“I think it is more to give their team the edge and throw him off a little bit. <\/p>\n

“I am sure they’re appreciative of what he has done for the club. He loves the club a lot, I know that from speaking to him.”<\/p>\n
