Daniel Farke is still yet to figure out his best starting XI at Leeds ten games into the Premier League campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are still several question marks over some areas of the squad, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin under fire<\/a> after a poor display at Brighton as Joel Piroe watches from the sidelines.<\/p>\n

A decision also needs to be made on whether Pascal Struijk comes back into the starting XI to replace \u00a315m man Jaka Bijol.<\/p>\n

One position that is quite secure under Daniel Farke<\/a> is the left-back department as Gabriel Gudmundsson<\/a> quietly impresses following his \u00a310m move from Lille in July 2025, although history shows the Swede might be better off as a left wing-back.<\/p>\n

Gudmundsson has previously scored eight goals and provided six assists in 70 games as a wing-back, compared to just two goals and five assists in 14 more appearances as a traditional left-back.<\/p>\n

The Leeds No.3 even has four goals and four assists playing as a proper left winger as part of the frontline. <\/p>\n

Bizarrely, Gudmundsson has also made 16 appearances as a striker earlier in his career, scoring three goals, so Farke has an emergency option to call upon should an injury crisis occur up top. <\/p>\n

Gudmundsson was run ragged by Yankuba Minteh<\/a> last time out as Brighton recorded a 3-0 win over Leeds at the Amex Stadium.<\/p>\n

It was a rough afternoon for the 26-year-old. However, he would find himself in these situations on fewer occasions if Farke did push him further forward, and switched to a five-man backline with three central defenders supporting two wing-backs instead.<\/p>\n
