Liverpool’s Conor Bradley with Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham<\/p>\n
Some of football\u2019s biggest names have been lining up to heap praise on Northern Ireland star Conor Bradley.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old produced an inspired display for Liverpool in Tuesday night\u2019s Champions League victory over Real Madrid at Anfield. Bradley barely gave Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior a kick, as the Reds ran out 1-0 winners.<\/p>\n
Champions League winner Teddy Sheringham said: \u201cConor Bradley definitely stepped up to the plate against Vinicius.<\/p>\n
\u201cI look at him like a young Steven Gerrard coming onto the scene. He\u2019s got that tenacity and drive about him and has a huge amount of quality.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he can defend that well against Vinicius \u2013 one of the best players in the world \u2013 then he\u2019s definitely on the way to becoming a real success at Liverpool. The challenge for him now is whether he can sustain those levels, but I\u2019m confident he\u2019ll be able to in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk agreed: \u201cHe held his own against one of the best wingers in recent times so he was outstanding.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe intensity of the games is incredible so you have to look after yourself and now he obviously played two good games, like the rest of the team, and so it is recovery and on to the next one.\u201d<\/p>\n
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler added: “Conor Bradley, wow, he put in an unbelievable performance. If Vinicius Junior gets to his bedroom I’ll be amazed, because Conor Bradley will stop him getting in there.”<\/p>\n
Bradley will face Manchester City on Sunday before joining up with his Northern Ireland teammates for this month\u2019s World Cup Qualifiers.
