Coronation Street<\/a> has confirmed that a leading character will leave devastation in her wake when she exits the ITV soap after four explosive years<\/a>. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s no secret that actress Charlotte Jordan<\/a> quit the soap, meaning that the end of Daisy Midgeley<\/a> is imminent, and now the actress has delivered fresh details, promising that the ripples her alter-ego triggers will be felt for some time. <\/p>\n

\u2018I think it\u2019s very bittersweet for Daisy,\u2019 she sighed. \u2018Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted \u2013 family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself \u2013 but it\u2019s also been the source of so much trauma for her. <\/p>\n

\u2018I think we\u2019ve watched her slowly try to pick up the pieces since her stalking storyline, but she\u2019s ultimately realised she doesn\u2019t need to stay in a place that\u2019s caused her so much heartbreak. <\/p>\n

\u2018And it\u2019s just as well she\u2019s running far away to the other side of the planet, as she\u2019s left a mountain of destruction and angry people in her wake!\u2019<\/p>\n

Jenny\u2019s fury \u2013 the final betrayal<\/p>\n

One of those is Jenny Connor<\/a> (Sally Ann Matthews<\/a>), who will be left distraught both by Daisy\u2019s departure and recent actions against her<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s so fractured now. And it\u2019s so sad, as we\u2019re used to seeing them so in sync,\u2019 Charlotte reflected on the state of the relationship. <\/p>\n

\u2018I think Daisy\u2019s harbouring some real resentment there, especially after what Jenny said about her miscarriage and her little brother\u2019s death. She feels she\u2019s very much been backed into a corner here. <\/p>\n

\u2018I suppose that\u2019s the only way she can justify her final betrayal of Jenny \u2013 it\u2019s actually very reminiscent of Jenny\u2019s early relationship with Rita. It\u2019s like Daisy is Jenny\u2019s penance for all the grief she used to give poor Rita!\u2019<\/p>\n

Metro<\/strong> won\u2019t reveal the full details on this final betrayal and the ramifications beyond<\/a>, but suffice to say that it\u2019s not a quiet goodbye from Daisy \u2013 and it will trigger emotive scenes for Jenny moving forwards. <\/p>\n

Daisy and Daniel \u2013 happy never after<\/p>\n

Jenny isn\u2019t the only one suffering a blow either \u2013 fans of Daisy and Daniel Osbourne<\/a>\u2019s (Rob Mallard<\/a>) relationship are now facing up to their final parting. And it\u2019s a sad case of affairs, as Charlotte reckons there is still a lot of love there.<\/p>\n

Confirming Daisy will always love Daniel, the actress mused: \u2018I think they\u2019ll both be each other\u2019s \u201cwhat if\u201d love story. I think we\u2019ll all be mourning what could have been. <\/p>\n

\u2018I think she also knows, deep down, that if Daniel were fully aware of what she\u2019s about to do to Jenny, he wouldn\u2019t be willing to let it slide and continue to stand by her side. So it\u2019s almost like she\u2019s cutting him loose before she can see how disappointed in her he\u2019ll be.\u2019<\/p>\n

You will have to wait and see exactly how Daisy and Daniel leave things with one another, and how hard Jenny is hit with that final betrayal, but there were may have been even more emotion backstage than on-screen. <\/p>\n

Not a dry eye!<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m not a big crier. But let me tell you, I cried on and off for about four hours straight!\u2019 Charlotte shared. \u2018My last scene was with the beautiful Rob Mallard, and we were meant to cry in the scene \u2013 but we were both dry as a bone. As soon as they yelled our final \u201ccut,\u201d we both burst into tears. Typical.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Corrie gang made it so special for me. The canteen made me my favourite lunch \u2013 which made me cry. The art department drew me a beautiful card \u2013 which made me cry. <\/p>\n

\u2018I would look over to Channique or Julia or Sal during our last lunch break and see them crying \u2013 which made me cry. I think I was medically dehydrated by the end of the day.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s a very special building, and I have loved it. And it\u2019s just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever.\u2019<\/p>\n

Though for all the dust that needs to settle, best leave it a good while, Daisy! <\/p>\n
