<\/p>\nOut of favour, Bangladeshi women’s cricketer Jahanara Alam has raised a serious allegation against the current Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana Joty, and accused her of physical abuse of junior cricketers in the Bangladesh Women’s Team.<\/p>\n
Jahanara Alam has represented Bangladesh in 52 ODIs and 83 T20Is and picked 108 wickets for the national side.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old Bangladesh player was last seen playing back in December 2024 during their tour to Ireland and has been absent from the squad since then. She has settled in Sydney and is unlikely to play any further for the national side.<\/p>\n

Former pacer accuses Bangladesh Captain of physical abuse on juniors<\/p>\n
Recently, while speaking to the Bangladesh-based newspaper Kaler Kantha, she made a shocking revelation about the current Bangladesh skipper and her dressing room antics. She claimed the skipper ‘beats up’ her junior fellow teammates a lot.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is nothing new. Joty beats up the juniors a lot. Even during this World Cup, the juniors told me, \u2018No, I won\u2019t do this again. Then I\u2019ll have to get slapped again.\u2019 I heard from some people, \u2018I got beaten up yesterday.\u2019 Even during the Dubai tour, she called a junior into the room and slapped her,\u201d said Jahanara Alam, through the above-mentioned source.<\/p>\n

Everyone\u2019s suffering is different. Here, one or two people get advanced facilities, and in some cases, only one person gets them. In 2021, the process of eliminating seniors like me, along with a few others, from the post-COVID camp began,” informed Jahanara.<\/p>\n “Then I was made the captain of one of the three teams<\/a> in the Bangladesh Games. The captains of the other two teams were Jyoti (Nigar Sultana) and Sharmin Sultana. The pressure on seniors started from then on,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n However, the BCB had claimed that the cricketer herself wanted to be kept out of the central contract as well as the national team for some time to address her mental health issues.<\/p>\n The Bangladesh Cricket Board seems to back its Captain as they have refused any such claims made by the pacer. They have also mentioned her as a ‘former’ cricketer, hence claiming a possible end to her career for Bangladesh.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken note of recent remarks made in the media by a former member of the Bangladesh Women\u2019s National Cricket Team, in which she has made a series<\/a> of allegations against the current National Team Captain, players, staff and team management,\u201d said a BCB official report.<\/p>\n \u201cThe BCB categorically and strongly refutes these allegations, which are baseless, fabricated and devoid of any truth. The Board finds it unfortunate that such derogatory and scandalous claims have been made at a time when the Bangladesh Women\u2019s Team is showing commendable progress and unity on the international stage,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n The board added that it believed Alam\u2019s comments were \u201cdeliberate, ill-intentioned and seemingly aimed at undermining the spirit and confidence of a team that continues to represent the country with pride.\u201d<\/p>\n ALSO READ: Not KL Rahul !
