(Image credit: Rocket Lab)<\/p>\n<p id=\"0a80d1c7-37c6-4b89-ab76-d6468b71cfd0\">&#8220;This satellite will join the rest of the QPS-SAR constellation in providing high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images and Earth monitoring services globally,&#8221; <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/rocket-lab.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/rocket-lab.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rocket Lab<\/a> wrote in a <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/rocketlabcorp.com\/missions\/next-mission\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/rocketlabcorp.com\/missions\/next-mission\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"noopener\">mission description<\/a>. &#8220;iQPS aims to build a constellation of 36 SAR satellites that will provide near-real-time images of Earth every 10 minutes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Yachihoko-I will be the 13th (not 14th, as it name implies) iQPS satellite to reach orbit to date. That explains the moniker the company gave to today&#8217;s mission: &#8220;The Nation God Navigates.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"7547680c-7c27-4277-900b-b184e7929849-1\">Today&#8217;s launch was the 16th of 2025 for Rocket Lab and the company&#8217;s 74th overall to date. The vast majority of these have been conducted by the 59-foot-tall (18 meters) Electron.
