Her ex Eamonn Holmes swiftly moved on after their 2024 split – but now Ruth Langsford<\/a> has broken her silence over claims she\u2019s secretly got back with a childhood sweetheart. Ruth Langsford, 65, has rubbished claims that have gone viral online about her reuniting with a childhood sweetheart, after splitting with the GB News presenter, after 14 years of marriage<\/a>.<\/p>\n Getting things off her chest as she anchored an episode of Loose Women<\/a>, the mum-of-one – who shares grown-up son Jack with Belfast-born Eamonn, slammed the \u201cterrible\u201d suggestions that have been lighting up social media.<\/p>\n As she introduced a segment about whether you would \u2018hard launch\u2019 your relationship, with co-presenters GK Barry, Denise Welch and Jane Moore, Ruth indicated a huge image flashed up on a screen behind her – of a woman who appeared to be standing in a park, beside a man.<\/p>\n The caption above it read: \u201cThe full story of heartbreak, closure and a love that came full circle.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking to the panel about the image, a bemused-looking Ruth said: \u201cApparently I have a new man. According to this article, that\u2019s all over Facebook<\/a> and I\u2019ve had friends ringing me up.<\/p>\n \u201cApparently I met this man when we were childhood sweethearts when I grew up in Belfast, which I didn\u2019t, and now it\u2019s come full circle after all these years and we are back together. Terrible, isn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n Slamming the reports of a \u2018mystery man\u2019, Ruth explained that the photograph in question had been artificially generated and she remains very much single.<\/p>\n READ MORE: M&S shoppers ‘can’t breathe’ as new Marmite creation lands on shelves<\/a> Fellow panellist Jane Moore <\/a>said: \u201cDo you know what, we are laughing and that\u2019s jokey, but people believe that right? And you see those things all the time. That to me is scary.\u201d<\/p>\n Denise then joked: “Mind you, that guy on there.. he was alright.” Ruth smiled in agreement, before adding: “Well yeah, he’s not bad.”<\/p>\n Ruth and Eamonn, who tied the knot in 2010, parted ways in May 2024, revealing in a joint statement that they had separated and were going to divorce after going in \u201cdifferent directions\u201d – but determined to remain friends.<\/p>\n A spokesperson said at the time: \u201cRuth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.\u201d<\/p>\n Following their shock split, Eamonn moved out of the family home – and in late 2024, went public with a new relationship, with counsellor and therapist, Katie Alexander, who is 23 years the broadcaster\u2019s junior.<\/p>\n The pair have often been seen on trips abroad and at showbiz events, but have been hit by rumours in recent times that their romance has come \u2018under strain\u2019<\/a>. Mum of one Katie defiantly responded by reportedly telling close friends: \u201cIt\u2019s the two of us..
