Leeds United continue to be linked with a move to sign Coventry City striker Haji Wright ahead of the January transfer window, and Don Goodman has discussed the chances of a move.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Always considered one of the Championship\u2019s best strikers since his move to Coventry in the summer of 2023, Wright has got better and better during his time in England. This season, he can\u2019t stop scoring.<\/p>\n

Frank Lampard\u2019s Coventry sit at the top of the Championship table. Wright has nine goals in 15 games for Lampard\u2019s side, while also providing two assists. It has even seen him earn his place in USA\u2019s team again.<\/p>\n

A brace against Australia has Wright closing in on a place in Mauricio Pochettino\u2019s World Cup squad. His form for Coventry, however, has not only caught the attention of Pochettino, but it\u2019s attracted Leeds<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n

According to LeedsUnited.News<\/strong> insider Graeme Bailey, Leeds are considering a move to sign Wright<\/a> in the January window. It is unclear how much Coventry want for the striker, but it is likely to be a big fee.<\/p>\n

Wright is due to enter the last 18 months of his contract when the January window opens. It is unclear how much cash Leeds have to spend, and if they can do so, with the club\u2019s PSR position under scrutiny.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Football League World<\/a>, however, Don Goodman<\/a> believes Wright may find it difficult to turn Leeds down in January if the Whites come calling. He says it depends on Leeds\u2019 position in the table.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an interesting decision that Haji Wright would have to make,\u201d Goodman said. \u201cI\u2019m not sure you can snub a Premier League club in November, when the transfer window is a while away yet,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously we need to establish whether this is just speculation or not. I\u2019m not sure that there are many Championship players who would turn down the opportunity to come to a Premier League club.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis may come down to how Leeds are looking in the table. Will he be joining a relegation battle? Or will they be comfortable, and he can then establish himself? Difficult decision, but a nice position for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haji Wright is the type of striker that Leeds United need<\/p>\n

With the way Daniel Farke<\/a> has got his side playing at the moment, Wright is the perfect kind of striker. One that has huge physicality, speed, and aerial ability \u2013 but one who is willing to run the channels too.<\/p>\n

A player that Brenden Aaronson knows well<\/a>, Wright has all the attributes that Farke wants in a striker. But if you are Joel Piroe, you\u2019re beginning to worry. Simon Rix says he is surprised Leeds didn\u2019t sell Piroe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The striker has managed just two substitute outings for Leeds since the 5-0 hammering by Arsenal. While Wright is the right type of striker for Leeds, Piroe isn\u2019t.
