{"id":552729,"date":"2025-11-06T10:50:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T10:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/552729\/"},"modified":"2025-11-06T10:50:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T10:50:14","slug":"the-london-cenotaph-remembrance-sunday-march-route-for-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/552729\/","title":{"rendered":"The London Cenotaph Remembrance Sunday March Route for 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Sunday (the second Sunday of November), tens of thousands of people will gather\u00a0in the centre of London to commemorate all those who have served\u00a0in the British and Commonwealth military, past and present.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Royal family, political leaders, faith communities and ex-servicemen and women will\u00a0all be taking part in a parade and laying poppy wreaths at National War Memorial \u2013 aka the Cenotaph \u2013 on Whitehall, with the public invited to pay their respects from the sidelines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re planning to be in central London for the Cenotaph Remembrance Sunday March, here\u2019s everything you need to know.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>RECOMMENDED:\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/news\/all-the-london-underground-and-overground-stations-that-have-poppy-roundels-for-remembrance-2025-110425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All the London Underground and Overground stations that have Poppy Roundels for Remembrance 2025<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What time will the London Cenotaph Remembrance Sunday march start?<\/p>\n<p>Royal British Legion detachments will form up on the Cenotaph at 10.30am and process out onto the Cenotaph at 10.50am before the national two minute silence at 11am.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can the public attend the Cenotaph in Whitehall?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You have to be officially registered to march in the Cenotaph Parade, but members of the public are welcome to watch the ceremony from the pavements along Whitehall and Parliament Street.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019ll also be screens broadcasting the parade to the north of the Cenotaph.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s the full route?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The parade first forms in columns on Horse Guard Parade then moves through\u00a0Horse Guards Arch to form on Whitehall in time\u00a0to see King Charles arriving at the Cenotaph.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It then proceeds down Whitehall,\u00a0past\u00a0the Cenotaph and turns onto Great George Street before finishing onto Horse Guards Road.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>How to watch the\u00a0Remembrance Day\u00a0march on TV<\/p>\n<p>The service will be broadcast on BBC One from 10.15am to 12.40pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Road closures and travel on Remembrance Sunday\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Great George Street will be closed to the public all day. For access between Victoria Street and St James Park, go via Storey\u2019s Gate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stations near the service will still be open but they\u2019re expected to get particularly busy.
