{"id":552849,"date":"2025-11-06T12:11:21","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T12:11:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/552849\/"},"modified":"2025-11-06T12:11:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T12:11:21","slug":"premises-once-used-by-life-wirral-sports-school-on-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/552849\/","title":{"rendered":"Premises once used by Life Wirral Sports School on market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The former Life Wirral Sports School premises on Victoria Road in New Brighton is on the market for \u00a3595,000.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The school hit the headlines\u00a0in June last year, after\u00a0a Panorama\u00a0reporter spent almost seven weeks working there undercover.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The BBC reported that the\u00a0reporter &#8220;witnessed staff using offensive language to mock pupils for their neurodiversity or learning disabilities, as well as manhandling them into dangerous headlocks&#8221;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The broadcaster says it carried out the undercover investigation after whistle blowers told Panorama &#8220;abuse was still happening there 12 months after the council was warned of problems&#8221;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A police investigation was launched following the broadcast and the school\u00a0was closed down.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Five staff members were suspended and three men later charged in connection with allegations of child cruelty at the school.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  One of them Elliott Millar, 21, from Irby, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison at Liverpool Magistrates&#8217; Court in November after pleading guilty to assaulting three pupils.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Daniel McNulty-Doyle, 21, of Rockfarm Grove, Little Neston has denied\u00a0using threatening, abusive word or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Oliver Nugent, 26, of\u00a0 Seaview Avenue, Irby, has denied a charge of\u00a0assault by\u00a0beating.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Both are awaiting trial.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The property, which was not owned by Life Wirral Sports School, is now up for sale through Bakewell &amp; Horner.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Describing the property, a statement on the agents&#8217; website read: &#8220;Nestled on the prominent Victoria Road in Wallasey, this detached property presents a unique opportunity for prospective buyers.
