STAFF working for a pension administrator in Liverpool continued their fight for union recognition, walking out for the 18th week\u00a0today.<\/p>\n
About 90 members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union are striking at MyCSP, administrators of the 1.7 million-member Civil Service pension\u00a0scheme.<\/p>\n
The staff are expected to stay out for another three weeks, until the contract is handed over to a new provider,\u00a0Capita.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But PCS members say MyCSP had refused to allow the union to represent employees ahead of the\u00a0transfer.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody knows that union workplaces are better workplaces \u2014 they\u2019re healthier, they\u2019re happier,\u201d said PCS industrial officer Paula\u00a0Wood.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want our members\u2019 experience to be great when they go into work, and we want other members who are dialling in to use this service to have a good\u00a0experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lead union representative Gary Wheeler said: \u201cWe are losing skilled staff and they\u2019re getting replaced by people who are brand new to pension\u00a0administration.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat causes then delays and slow processes and inaccuracies, and that\u2019s not the service that we want be\u00a0providing.\u201d<\/p>\n
