Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has revealed that British transfer record signing Alexander Isak will return to training today ahead of this weekend’s big Premier League<\/a> game at Manchester City. The \u00a3125m striker has missed the Reds’ last four matches with a groin issue.<\/p>\n But after being called up to the latest Sweden squad, Isak<\/a> could now be part of the Liverpool<\/a> travelling party for the trip to the Etihad on Sunday (4.30pm) for what will be the final fixture before the international break.<\/p>\n But speaking at his press conference this morning<\/a>, Reds boss Slot urged caution – as well as providing an update on goalkeeper Alisson Becker<\/a>, who has been absent with a hamstring injury since September 30. He said: “Isak will train with team again after three weeks out.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Arne Slot has given game away ahead of Man City after bizarre Liverpool\u00a0calls<\/a>READ MORE: Liverpool dealing with overlooked transfers issue as Arne Slot given strong backing<\/a><\/p>\n “I know that I said three weeks ago that his pre-season has ended so now it’s time for us to see where he is.<\/p>\n “But I have to come back to those words, because if you are three weeks only with the rehab, that doesn’t bring you back to the levels he was three weeks ago.<\/p>\n “Even though our rehab has done an incredible job, you cannot compare rehab with games of football or training sessions with the team. As much as we try to replicate it, that’s simply not possible.<\/p>\n “So, again I have to say, give him some time.”<\/p>\n Slot was also asked about the fitness of left-back Andy Robertson<\/a>, who has played three matches in the space of a week.<\/p>\n The Dutchman said of the Scotland captain: “Robbo started three games in seven days as he started against Crystal Palace (in the Carabao Cup).<\/p>\n “I had to take him off towards the end (against Real Madrid). I felt he was tired but we will wait to see where he is today.”<\/p>\n Liverpool will be without Alisson and defenders Jeremie Frimpong<\/a> and Giovanni Leoni<\/a> this weekend.<\/p>\n But Slot confirmed his No.1 is set to return for the home clash with Nottingham Forest on November 22. However, right-back Frimpong will still be sidelined, along with centre-back and long-term injury victim Leoni.<\/p>\n Slot said: “Alisson for sure. And I expect Jeremie back after the international break as well because we play from November until March!<\/p>\n “But I don\u2019t expect Jeremie to be fully fit for Forest.
