A Russian general has launched a scathing attack on Vladimir Putin warning him that Russia is facing a \u201cstrategic defeat.\u201d<\/p>\n
Leonid Ivashov who is well known amongst the military criticised Putin\u2019s war in Ukraine and accused the Russian dictator of provoking a wider conflict and has called for his resignation.<\/p>\n
Ivashov warned in 2022 when Putin launched his full-scale war that this will \u201cthreaten the very existence of Russia,\u201d he now firmly believes that Russia will \u201ccollapse.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAccording to Vladimir Putin<\/a>\u2019s statements, a strategic defeat will lead to Russia\u2019s collapse,\u201d general Ivashov said.<\/p>\n \u201cHowever, there is no clarification of what is meant by this \u2018strategic defeat.\u2019 The fact that we are isolated and permanent members of the UN Security Council are making statements in support of Ukraine<\/a> is already our strategic defeat.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more related news:<\/strong><\/p>\n Putin is so desperate he has resorted to sending disabled men to the front<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n He then scorned Putin over his constant nuclear rhetoric, he said, \u201cThe Kremlin has been touting its latest missile developments, such as the Burevestnik and Poseidon.<\/p>\n \u201cWe cling to the missile Burevestnik and the nuclear torpedo Poseidon<\/a> like a plaster cast. In reality, the United States will be able to destroy us before these reach their targets, if we even manage to fire them.\u201d<\/p>\n Russia<\/a>n forces are increasingly likely to seize the<\/p>\n He said that Russia<\/a>n force may capture the crucial city of Pokrovsk, which is the \u201cgateway to Donetsk,\u201d but he said even if it is taken it will be irrelevant.<\/p>\n \u201cThat we advanced somewhere near Pokrovsk<\/a> is only a tactical success; we have no operational-tactical successes, and at the strategic level we have suffered defeat in every direction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n I wrote earlier this week, \u201cRussia<\/a>n \u201cvictories\u201d have been rare, limited and bought in blood. His fourth-year war has delivered mass graves, not triumph.<\/p>\n \u201cPokrovsk isn\u2019t about territory; it\u2019s about illusion.
