Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s future looks bright despite their current financial position after months of turmoil at Hillsborough.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That is according to football finance expert\u00a0Dr Dan Plumley<\/a>\u00a0who exclusively told\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong> the latest on Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>\u2018s situation.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday were put into administration<\/a> and therefore hit with a points deduction which leaves the club rooted to the bottom of the Championship table.<\/p>\n

Investors like John Textor have shown interest in taking over Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>, after administration confirmed the end of Dejphon Chansiri\u2019s ownership of the club.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, Plunley has explained the current ongoing situation at Wednesday, and why the fans can play a pivotal role in any takeover.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdministration is\u00a0a bad thing, generally speaking, but with this\u00a0particular club,\u00a0you\u2019ve\u00a0seen the reaction of the fan base, and\u00a0it was the only way really that that\u00a0owner was going to exit the club,\u201d Plumley said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, you\u2019ve had to deal with the points production, but you can see already now the benefit and the power of that fan base, they are coming back on board, buying tickets, buying merchandise, ultimately raising part of the money that\u2019s paid for the player wages this month, which, you know, were paid on time.\u00a0So\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0fantastic.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd from what we see the administrators are very much on the front foot and have been very vocal about having interested parties. There are seven interested parties that put forward proof of funds to\u00a0to\u00a0have the\u00a0initial\u00a0conversation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo\u00a0if that carries on in that way, and there might be others that come into the mix for a little bit further down the line, then I think\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0highly likely that that club is\u00a0sold, and\u00a0is saved and then obviously can grow in the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis season is a\u00a0long-term\u00a0project\u00a0and you can, you know, put some\u00a0real significant\u00a0money into building that club back up.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe power of the fan base can help the club, both on and off the pitch. And, you know, we saw with the Wednesday fans that boycott the game\u00a0against Middlesbrough, which was just before administration.\u00a0There was\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0hardly anybody in the stands.\u00a0And then the day after the next match day, there was 25,000.\u00a0There was 28,000 there\u00a0against Norwich\u00a0for a midweek game, you know, in the bottom of the table.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo\u00a0it\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a phenomenal fan base.\u00a0As an investor, if you can harness some of that and\u00a0use that to your advantage, that fan base can become\u00a0really powerful\u00a0to you, and is a\u00a0really powerful\u00a0investment proposition as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday want to sell out their fixture against Norwich City<\/a> next to promote the club further to investors.<\/p>\n

It is believed the match could be the last chance for the club to showcase their potential to interested parties before the offer stage.<\/p>\n
