An air ambulance has rushed to Edinburgh<\/a> city centre after emergency services were called to a major incident. Police<\/a>, fire crews, and paramedics rushed to Constitution Street in the Scottish<\/a> capital around 1.30pm.<\/p>\n

An air ambulance was seen landing Leith Links shortly afterwards, with locals reporting seeing a helicopter landing at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh<\/a> just before 3pm. One eyewitness said: “Someone\u2019s underneath the tram and they\u2019re trying to get them out. I\u2019ve been here for about 15 minutes,” as per The Scotsman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve lived in the area all my life, and there\u2019ve been tram incidents, but I\u2019ve never seen anything like this,” they added.<\/p>\n

It’s not yet clear exactly what occurred, and the condition of those involved, as per Edinburgh Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for comment via email.<\/p>\n

Edinburgh Trams in a post on X: “Trams are part route between Airport and Balfour street due to an incident at the shore tram stop.<\/p>\n

They added that ticket acceptance is in place with Lothian Buses “on the number 16 between Newhaven and Balfour Street”, and apologised for any inconvenience.<\/p>\n

Police said emergency services are on the scene.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: “Constitution Street is closed at the junction with Queen Charlotte Street in Edinburgh following a report of a concern for person received around 1.35pm on Friday, 7 November.<\/p>\n
