\n\t\t\tRAIL passengers travelling between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone this weekend are being advised of journey changes while engineering upgrades take place.<\/p>\n
Network Rail say the work, which includes track and drainage improvements, will help provide better and more reliable journeys for passengers and freight services.\n<\/p>\n
Across the weekend, Network Rail\u2019s teams will be carry out track replacement near Sudbury Hill station, track maintenance at Oxford, and drainage improvement at Banbury.<\/p>\n
It means the Chiltern main line will be closed between Wembley Stadium and Denham all day on Saturday and Sunday November 8 and 9, and between Bicester North and Leamington Spa on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
The work will affect Chiltern Railways\u2019 services and journeys will take longer than usual with rail replacement bus services in operation.<\/p>\n
\nNeil Gaskin, programme director for Network Rail\u2019s Central route, said: \u201cThese essential railway upgrades and maintenance will help keep the Chiltern main line more reliable for years to come. This work has been carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum while delivering the most future benefits for passengers and freight and I thank passengers for their patience.<\/p>\n
