The creation of 7,000 homes in seven new neighbourhoods in Manchester and Salford<\/a> and more flexible use of space at the Trafford<\/a> Centre make up some of the more significant planning notices this week.<\/p>\n Farnworth has been earmarked for a huge facelift under a \u00a319.5m \u2018Pride in Place\u2019 project fronted by Bolton<\/a> council.<\/p>\n Over in Wigan<\/a>, there are plans for 65 affordable homes on brownfield land in the Ince-in-Makerfield area and Lancashire County Cricket Club have \u2018serious concerns\u2019 that noise from concerts at its Old Trafford ground may disturb future residents a housing development planned close by.<\/p>\n Here is a breakdown of each borough\u2019s recently submitted public notices:<\/p>\n Bolton<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2018Once in a generation\u2019 \u00a319.5m plan for town\u2019s regeneration<\/strong><\/p>\n Plans on how to spend \u00a319.5m regeneration cash awarded to Farnworth over the next 10 years have been approved by Bolton council.<\/p>\n The funding was originally awarded to Farnworth under the Plan for Neighbourhoods scheme under the previous Conservative government. The current Labour<\/a> administration later confirmed the cash and renamed the scheme \u2018Pride in Place\u2019, with many of the same objectives.<\/p>\n A special meeting of Bolton council\u2019s cabinet heard from assistant director of development and regeneration, Paul Whittingham, who said the implementation and priorities of the scheme would be led by the community.He said: \u201cThis plan represents a long process but does create the opportunity to look at the next 10 years.<\/p>\n Bury<\/strong><\/p>\n Developer argues fields it wants to build houses on \u2018only make weak contribution\u2019 to green belt<\/strong><\/p>\n Plans for a small housing estate on green belt land on the outskirts of Bury<\/a> have been submitted. Holcombe Brook based Cornell Group is seeking permission in principle to build nine homes on grassed land at the junction of Bentley Lane and Walmersley Old Road.<\/p>\n The plot borders the M66 motorway and consists of greenfield land with an area of allotments to the southern boundary, with a number of outbuildings and structures. The larger portion of the site was previously been in agricultural use.<\/p>\n A former quarry lies to the north west boundary, which is now a mature woodland there is residential development bordering along Bentley Lane and Walmersley Old Road.<\/p>\n Six-storey block of 40 flats planned at prime town centre site<\/strong><\/p>\n Plans for a block of 40 flats at a town centre site have been submitted.<\/p>\n The six-storey block is planned for the site of the former Wellington pub on Stand Lane in Radcliffe<\/a>, close to the junction with Pilkington Way. The block, named on the plans as New Mellor House, would contain a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments and the plans also include creation of a new parking court and provision of landscaping.<\/p>\n Documents in support of the application, by Candy Investments Ltd said the proposals were \u2018a fully affordable high-quality scheme\u2019. A design and access statement said the site would be accessed via Mellor Street, off Stand Lane to allow vehicles to access the site from the rear, while pedestrians would access the development via a separate entrance on Stand Lane.<\/p>\n The report, said: \u201cThe site comprises of a main plateau area which sits directly at the junction of Pilkington Way, Stand Lane and New Road, offering a key waymarking point on the route into Radcliffe.<\/p>\n Manchester<\/strong><\/p>\n The next EIGHT high streets set to receive a major makeovers have been confirmed by Manchester council<\/strong><\/p>\n Town hall bosses have promised to revamp Manchester\u2019s suburban centres with hundreds of millions of pounds going on new public spaces, shops, and homes in-and-around existing high streets.<\/p>\n Last month, final plans were confirmed for Gorton<\/a> and Moston<\/a>, with \u00a360m earmarked for the former\u2019s Hyde<\/a> Road heartland, set to create a new food hall and 400 new homes.
