Martin O’Neill has brushed off Chris Sutton\u2019s concerns over his Celtic<\/a> \u2018legacy\u2019.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neill<\/a>\u2019s former star striker and Record Sport<\/strong> columnist voiced fears of the interim stint going on too long – if there were more outcomes like the 3-1 Europa League loss against Midtjylland.<\/p>\n

But the caretaker head coach brushed off the comment that the surprise second spell in charge could damage his reputation with Celts.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neill said: \u201cChris Sutton<\/a> said something about, \u2018oh, I should leave now because of the legacy\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m telling you honestly, that legacy thing does not concern me one jot. Never has done.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you want to talk about legacies, look up there at Jock Stein – that’s Celtic. Everything else is secondary – and a legacy has never bothered me.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you’re dead, you’re dead. Who cares?\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, O\u2019Neill moved to soothe Callum Osmand\u2019s suffering as he faces the prospect of time out with injury.<\/p>\n

But the Celtic interim head coach has conceded \u2018it doesn\u2019t look good\u2019.<\/p>\n

Osmand was devastated in Denmark on Thursday night after being stretchered off<\/a> late in the 3\u20131 loss to Midtjylland.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neill has assured the breakthrough star, who turns 20 today, that he can regain recent momentum.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neill reported: \u201cHe’s just gone off for some scans to the hospital and we’ll have some news later on, but it doesn\u2019t look good.<\/p>\n

\u201cHamstrings in our days seemed to be about three weeks to four weeks; now they seem to be double the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a shame because he was just getting going, wasn’t he?<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, the lad was totally distraught about it after the game, as you would expect.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe waited for his chance and I thought he was doing fine and then that happened<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I said to him: \u2018It’s a setback, that’s all\u2019.
