NICOLA Sturgeon was branded \u201cshameful\u201d after refusing to apologise to women over her failed gender self-ID push.<\/p>\n

The ex-First Minister had been silent on the Supreme Court ruling<\/a> 12 days ago that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex.<\/p>\n

But she remained defiant when tracked down by journalists at the weekend and asked for her response to the judgement. <\/p>\n

She said: \u201cI think my views are well known.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fiona McAnena, of charity Sex Matters, said: \u201cIt\u2019s little wonder she has no response.<\/p>\n

“Women<\/a> will not easily forgive or forget her efforts to destroy their rights.<\/p>\n

\u201cSturgeon must be held accountable for her shameful promotion of policies that did so much harm to vulnerable women, such as those in prisons<\/a> and in the care of rape crisis services.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kate Barker, of gay rights group LGB Alliance, added: \u201cThere\u2019s no point expecting an apology from Nicola Sturgeon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead, we\u2019d like to thank her for giving the public and the judiciary the opportunity to roundly reject self-ID.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Sturgeon led the drive for gender self-ID<\/a> in Scotland<\/a> as First Minister, then quit.<\/p>\n

Tory MSP Tess White said: \u201cNicola Sturgeon\u2019s deafening silence on the ruling has been unforgivable, especially after she told women their concerns over self-ID weren\u2019t \u2018valid\u2019. <\/p>\n

“She should show some humility, admit she was wrong, and apologise to women and girls for her abject failure to look after them as First Minister.\u201d<\/p>\n
