{"id":557138,"date":"2025-11-08T11:25:21","date_gmt":"2025-11-08T11:25:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/557138\/"},"modified":"2025-11-08T11:25:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T11:25:21","slug":"woman-stabbed-in-neck-in-unprovoked-attack-in-birmingham-city-centre-uk-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/557138\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman stabbed in neck in \u2018unprovoked attack\u2019 in Birmingham city centre | UK news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">A woman is in critical condition after she was stabbed in the neck in what police believe was \u201can unprovoked attack\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">West Midlands police were called to Smallbrook Queensway in Birmingham city centre shortly before 9pm on Friday after reports of a stabbing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The woman in her 30s suffered a \u201cserious neck injury\u201d and remains in hospital. Police arrested a man in his 20s near to the scene and he is in custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">DI James Nix said: \u201cWe believe this was an unprovoked attack and are working to understand why it happened.
