Man Utd forward Benjamin Sesko started on the bench against Tottenham and picked up an injury when he came on.Benjamin Sesko suffered a knee injury.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim confirmed Manchester United could consider strengthening their attacking options in January, depending on the severity of the injury Benjamin Sesko suffered against Tottenham.<\/p>\n

Sesko was introduced from the bench in the 58th minute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he lasted just half an hour and was forced off the pitch after receiving treatment for a knee injury.<\/p>\n

United<\/a> had to finish the game with 10 men because Amorim had used all of his substitutions.<\/p>\n

Amorim<\/a> was asked about the striker’s injury at his post-match press conference following the 2-2 draw. “We have to check. He had something in his knee, let’s see,” he said.<\/p>\n

When asked whether it was serious, Amorim said: “I have no idea. Because it’s the knee, we never know.”<\/p>\n

Sesko failed to pull the trigger twice when he was presented with two half chances against Spurs, but Amorim believes a lack of confidence wasn’t to blame. He said: “No, I think… I think that is not the biggest concern now.<\/p>\n

“That happened in the same way that he is not scoring and then he scores two goals in the next two games [Brentford and Sunderland], so that happens, especially with a striker. I’m more concerned with an injury because it’s in the knee and I don’t know. We need Ben to be a better team.”<\/p>\n

United will lose Bryan Mbeumo, Amad and Noussair Mazraoui to the Africa Cup of Nations in December, which prompted Amorim to confirm the club could be active in the January window.<\/p>\n

Amorim said the severity of Sesko’s knee injury could influence plans. “We have to check everything, we have to check what has happened with Ben,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Of course, we are going to have a problem there [with AFCON], but we already knew. Then you can prepare that in the summer, but then you have a lot of players in the summer who are not going to play because it’s one game per week. So the management of that situation is going to be hard.<\/p>\n

“But let’s see when the window is open, if we can improve the team and try to prepare something that happened. Until then, we have to take the chance.”<\/p>\n
