Liverpool\u2019s 15-year-old winger Josh Abe took another big step as he scored his second goal for the U18s, but it came in a 6-3 thrashing by Nottingham Forest<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

The young Reds find themselves on a run of five games without a win, losing their last four games including a 4-0 defeat to Real Madrid<\/a> in the UEFA Youth League in midweek.<\/p>\n

Their latest defeat came at the hands of Nottingham Forest<\/a>, who went 6-2 up after the hour mark before Josh Sonni-Lambie\u2019s late consolation.<\/p>\n

While it was a difficult afternoon for Liverpool it did bring another big moment for Abe, who scored his first home goal for the U18s.<\/p>\n

The teenager, deployed on the right wing, finished Lamore Lee Forrester\u2019s cross at the far post to bring it back to 2-1 after goals from Forest\u2019s Riko Robinson and Ethan Broomes.<\/p>\n

It made it two goals and an assist in five games since Abe stepped up from the U16s, having only turned 15 in July of this year.<\/p>\n

Alvin Ayman, restored to his natural role in midfield after a long stint at left-back this season, then made it 2-2 on the cusp of half-time with a stunning strike.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately the second half brought a deluge of goals from the visitors, with Robinson completing his hat-trick along with further efforts from Scott Hamilton and Fuad Smith.<\/p>\n

Sonni-Lambie, who came off the bench as his minutes are managed in a busy schedule for the striker, made sure Liverpool at least scored the last goal of the game as he struck well for 6-3.<\/p>\n

It means the U18s will now wait a fortnight for their next game with a sour taste in their mouths, with a trip to Newcastle<\/a> in the cup their next opportunity to restore form.<\/p>\n

Simon Wiles\u2019 side are currently in the bottom half of the league table having won four, drawn one and now lost five of their 10 games so far.<\/p>\n

Sonni-Lambie is their leading goalscorer with nine goals in 12 games for the U18s and 11 in 17 across the age groups this season.<\/p>\n
