The Prince William Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2023 Salute to the Armed Forces event headlining speaker: Wounded Warrior Project\u00ae Warriors Speak Spokesperson Danielle Green.<\/p>\n
Danielle Green is a former Notre Dame basketball player, who is the 17th-leading all-time scorer for the women\u2019s team. Green graduated from Notre Dame and immediately enlisted in the Army during the Iraq War, sending her to the front lines in 2004 as a military police officer. Danielle\u2019s post was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, critically injuring her and blowing off her lower left arm. She joins the event to tell her story of resilience in the face of challenge, coming back from her injury to become an inspirational speaker and learning how to live a life with new purpose.<\/p>\n
Each year, the Salute to the Armed Forces honors the military presence in Northern Virginia, recognizing the veteran community and business community that supports our military. This year\u2019s program includes the National Anthem sung by D.C. sports singer Dwight Clyde Washington (a.k.a. D.C. Washington), the Presentation of Colors, and POW\/MIA ceremony.<\/p>\n
Salute to the Armed Forces takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Hunt Golf & Country Club (6901 Arthur Hills Dr., Gainesville<\/a>). Tickets can be purchased on the Chamber\u2019s website<\/a> for $50 as a Chamber member and $70 at a Future Member Rate. Active-duty service members and veterans are invited to attend.
