\" data-image-caption=\"&lt;p&gt;The Anchor relaunch&lt;\/p&gt; \" data-medium-file=\"https:\/\/brumhour.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/The-Anchor-relaunch-party-300x200.jpg\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/brumhour.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/The-Anchor-relaunch-party-1024x683.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/The-Anchor-relaunch-party-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25115\"  \/>The Anchor relaunch<\/p>\n<p>A section of the main bar, partitioned off by the original timber and stained-glass has had its former name <strong>The Midland Red Bar<\/strong> restored in honour of the historic <strong>Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited<\/strong> (also known as <strong>Midland Red<\/strong>) depot site next door \u2013 now occupied by Birmingham Coach Station and operated by National Express.<\/p>\n<p>One of a handful of screens installed thoughtfully across the premises will be dedicated to live arrivals and departures at the station next door.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring upholstery in the same colour as the famous bus livery, as well as photographs and posters donated by <strong>National Express<\/strong>, <strong>The Midland Red Bar<\/strong> pays homage to the <strong>Anchor\u2019s<\/strong> past as a haunt for bus drivers.<\/p>\n<p>New additions to the building include a large garden wall mural playing on the 1928 <strong>Cadbury <\/strong>campaign <strong>There\u2019s A Glass And A Half of Full Cream Milk<\/strong>, adapted for fans of <strong>Guinness<\/strong>, along with a cheeky play on <strong>Michaelangelo\u2019s <\/strong>famous work <strong>The Creation of Adam<\/strong> covering the entire ceiling of the back bar.<\/p>\n<p>With new decking, a stretch covering, with walls taken back to bare brick, festoon lighting, and a new access point via the side of the garden, <strong>The Anchor Digbeth\u2019s<\/strong> revamped cosy and intimate garden space complements the interior following extensive work.<\/p>\n<p>Working with community organisations including <strong>Friends of Bradford Street<\/strong>, <strong>Peter Connolly<\/strong> and team will be working with local partners and city agencies to improve lighting, safety and general upkeep in the immediate area.<\/p>\n<p>With six new cask lines for ales and cider, three keg lines for independently produced ales, and partnerships with local brewers and distillers including <strong>Church End Brewery<\/strong> and <strong>Spirit of Birmingham<\/strong>, <strong>The Anchor Digbeth<\/strong> will ensure <strong>Birmingham <\/strong>produced drinks have an additional outlet for sales.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Anchor Digbeth<\/strong> is open from Midday to Midnight daily at 308 Bradford Street, <strong>Birmingham <\/strong>B5 6ET.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRelated<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"This isn\u2019t a sponsored post.
