Fans of Anthony Bourdain will no doubt recognise the name of \u2018The Lunch Lady\u2019<\/strong>. The late cook, whose real name is Nguy\u1ec5n Th\u1ecb Thanh, gained international fame for her street-side noodle soups after appearing on Anthony Bourdain\u2019s No Reservations: Vietnam.<\/strong> And short of travelling all the way to Vietnam, it was previously extremely difficult to try out the TV-famous<\/a> recipes \u2013 until now.<\/p>\n

Now, unfortunately, The Lunch Lady hasn\u2019t actually opened a restaurant in London<\/a>. She sadly passed away earlier this year, at the age of 58. Instead, one of her mentees, Brian Woo, opened a location of his C\u00f4 Th\u00e0nh eateries right here in London this November<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

C\u00f4 Th\u00e0nh is a love letter of sorts to The Lunch Lady and her recipes<\/strong>. The eateries bring her recipes \u201cout of the heart of District 1 [in Vietnam], with the mission to provide authentic Vietnamese dishes<\/a> to celebrate the marvel of flavors [sic] the cuisine has to offer.\u201d What started as a restaurant in Hong Kong, providing a taste of the famed dishes from Vietnam, has now landed all the way over here in London. And we couldn\u2019t be happier about it, frankly.<\/p>\n

On the menu at C\u00f4 Th\u00e0nh <\/p>\n

While the original location was famous for serving just one dish at a time, from a revolving selection of local Vietnamese noodle soups, C\u00f4 Th\u00e0nh is offering up a comprehensive menu of Vietnamese delights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re currently settling into their new location, so the full menu isn\u2019t yet available. They\u2019re promising an impressive array of b\u00e1nh m\u00ec and ph\u1edf to round out the menu when they\u2019re operating at full capacity<\/strong>. But there\u2019s still plenty to choose from.<\/p>\n

The stars of the menu are the b\u00fan dishes<\/strong>, a selection of meals made from vermicelli-style noodles (as opposed to the wide, flat noodles used for ph\u1edf). Among these are the world-famous noodle soup dishes such as B\u00fan b\u00f2 Hu\u1ebf, which features beef and pork bone broth and a variety of toppings.<\/p>\n

For the side, you can also order from the likes of spring rolls, summer rolls, beef in betel leaf, chicken wings, and more. Wash it all down with a special cocktail, such as the Calamansi Sour, or a super-strong Vietnamese coffee, and you\u2019ll be rolling your way home. Oh, and coffee<\/a> fans definitely won\u2019t want to miss the C\u00e0 Ph\u00ea Tiramisu (Vietnamese dark roast coffee tiramisu) if they somehow still have room for dessert!<\/strong><\/p>\n
