On the eve of the scheduled launch window opening up, here’s how to watch a livestream as the massive New Glenn rocket gets off the ground again from Florida.<\/p>\n

Blue Origin is preparing to launch its massive New Glenn rocket<\/a> on just its second spaceflight in 2025 from Florida on a mission to Mars.<\/p>\n

Named in honor of NASA astronaut\u00a0John Glenn, New Glenn<\/a> is a powerful two-stage heavy-lift launch vehicle that billionaire Jeff Bezos’ spaceflight company<\/a> is manufacturing for orbital missions. Blue Origin envisions that New Glenn will be capable of shuttling Amazon’s\u00a0Project Kuiper satellites<\/a>\u00a0to orbit and undertaking other missions for paying customers \u2013\u00a0including NASA\u00a0and telecommunications providers.<\/p>\n

So far, though, the 322-foot-tall spacecraft<\/a> has only managed to get off the ground once, with its maiden flight occurring in January<\/a>. While the upper stage reached orbit in the debut, the booster itself failed to land as planned on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean, and was instead lost during the descent.<\/p>\n

This time around, New Glenn is the launch service provider of choice for NASA and the agency<\/a>‘s ESCAPADE mission to Mars.<\/p>\n

New Glenn rocket launch: <\/strong>Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin to launch New Glenn rocket for 2nd time<\/a><\/p>\n

When is the New Glenn rocket launch?<\/p>\n

Blue Origin is working toward a Sunday, Nov. 9, launch of its New Glenn rocket from Florida, according to a company post<\/a> on social media site X.<\/p>\n

A Federal Aviation Administration operations\u00a0plan advisory<\/a> indicates the launch window is open from 2:45 to 5:11 p.m. ET. The rocket would get off the ground from Launch Complex 36 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, a site Blue Origin invested $1 billion to rebuild.<\/p>\n

After the upper stage reaches space <\/a>and separates from the booster, Blue Origin will once again attempt to land the first stage on a drone ship, named Jacklyn<\/a>, several hundred miles offshore in the Atlantic.<\/p>\n

Blue Origin will provide a live webcast of the rocket launch on its website at this link<\/a>, and is also likely to provide updates on social media site X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During its second-ever mission, New Glenn is due to propel NASA’s twin ESCAPADE spacecraft<\/a> on their trek to Mars, where they will orbit the red planet<\/a> and take simultaneous observations of solar winds and space weather.<\/p>\n

The mission also doubles as a commercial venture. New Glenn will additionally carry technology from telecommunications company Viasat that could be used for NASA missions in low-Earth orbit.<\/p>\n
